The draw for round of last 16 in the Champions League was announced this morning, and there are some massive matches in store featuring Premier League teams. Here’s the draw in full:
Chelsea v Juventus
Villarreal v Panathinaikos
Sporting Lisbon v Bayern Munich
Atletico Madrid v FC Porto
Lyon v Barcelona
Real Madrid v Liverpool
Arsenal v Roma
Inter Milan v Manchester United
There are some mouthwatering matches in store. Liverpool against Real Madrid will be amazing with two of the biggest teams in Europe battling each other. Inter Milan versus Manchester United will be a very tricky tie for both clubs and will provide a chance for Fergie to match his wits against The Special One, Jose Mourinho, once again. Arsenal should have no problem against Roma, the way the Italian club has been playing in the Champions League lately. And Chelsea faces Juventus in another tricky tie.
The matches will be played on February 24/25 and March 10/11.
It makes you wonder what the point is of having a group stage in the Champions League. In many ways, especially this year, the group stage has been extremely boring. Now the true test and excitement begins in the Champions League.

There were lots of goals this weekend so far. Lots of action and lots of unexpected things. It was a weekend truly dedicated to the fans of EPL and EPL Lovers. There are a total of 20 goals that have been scored on Saturday and still Super Sunday to go. This is a week where everything happened. Lots of action took place, goals, cards everything that you an expect when you are watching EPL.

As already expected this was a game where anything could have happened. Two most unexpected teams of EPL took on each other and went on to play a draw that could have turned either way. Both the teams had great chances to score after going on to 1-1 but no one could take the lead and the match ended in a draw.Arsenal could have scored the winning goal in the last minutes but they were unable to do so and the game ended in a draw.

This was a game which was completely dominated by Aston Villa. They also conceded two goals but thy were in full control of the game. They never looked like loosing this game. In the first half itself they were leading the game by 2-1. And the final score was 4-2. After this win Aston Villa are back to fourth position knocking out Arsenal from the to four. Out of four goals, two were scored by their best forward- Agbonlahor. Other goals were scored by Ashley Young and one was an own goal from Davies.

Hull Showed great skills and could have won against the league leaders. They were at one time leading the game by 2-0. But it was Gerrard who rescued Liverpool from the jail and put them back into their good position. Gerrard got both the goals for Liverpool and got a crucial point for their side. Paul McShane was the only goal scorer for Hull while Jamie Carragher scored an own goal.

Tim Cahill scored his third goal of the season and rescued his team from danger. It was the last minute goal from Cahill which earned his team a full quota of 3 points. Otherwise they would have to share one point each. It was a game which could have gone either way. There were not many chances for either team to score but Everton were able to convert one from the last minute corner and go three important points.

This was the most boring game of the evening. It was a game where there were no goals no action. The game ended in a goalless draw and teams shared one point each. Stoke have been failed to impress so far and they were unable to do o this evening a well. On the other hand Fulham got one or two chances where they could have scored. They have been in a great form so would have wanted to continue their form. But in the end they had to satisfy for a draw and share one point each.

Sunderland gave a see off gift to their former manager Kaene. They were superb in their game against West Brom. They won the game by 4-0 which they even themselves would not have predicted before the game. Jones was absolutely superb in the game scoring two goals while the other goals were scored by Andy Reid and Djibril Cisse(pen). West Brom were in the relegation zone and after this loss it seems that it is very difficult for them to survive the season.

Again this was a game between two teams from the bottom half of the table and out of which one was in the relegation zone and the result is the same. Wigan thrashed Blackburn by 3-0. The game was quite even but Wigan were able to convert their shots into goals while Blackburn were not able to do so. Overall Blacckburn hit more shots than Wigan but still they lost the game by 3-0. Emile Heskey, Antonio Valencia, Lee Cattermole booked their names on the score sheet.

This was the most awaited goal of the evening where Tottenham faced Manchester United. The game which was expected to be the game of the week but it ended it disappointment as it ended in a goalless draw. There were lots and lots of chances for Man Utd to score a goal and get three points but they were unable to ut the ball behind the nets. Tottenham also got some chances to score a goal but they were also unable to do so. And it was a goalless draw for them nevertheless.

Now that the final matchday has come and gone of the Champions League, we now know what the potential parings for the final sixteen of the Champions League could be. With the draw a week from Friday, it’s always good to have a little bit of fun with what could possibly be. EPL Game week 16 fixtures
Last weekend was a great one for almost every fan of EPL, but this weekend will surely be more exciting and more interesting. Bolton won the last game against Sunderland with 4-1 giving them a huge moral confidence while Hull, after a great start to the season are looking very ordinary now. They have not won even a single game in their last 6 matches. The top four are getting closer and closer while the gap between the top of the table and the bottom of the table is also narrowing. In this case this season will surely be a great fun where any team an relegate out of EPL while any club can win the title.

Unexpected Arsenal beats Chelsea
With two great goals from VanPersie, unexpected Arsenal beats Chelsea and enters the top four again. With this win they continue their great form against the big Clubs and now have beaten all the other three big clubs this season. The gunners have been really unexpected this season as sometimes they have come up with great force while the other times they have been a big failure. Loosing against Hull and managing to draw against poor Sunderland this season were their two biggest failures while they have beaten Manchester United and Chelsea and have draw with Liverpool were their great force.
With two goals from Van Persie Chelsea were beaten and was one of the rare defeats of the season. The two strikes came up just in three minutes for Arsenal one of which should have been given as the offside but it was luck favouring them and they came back from behind to win the game 2-1. The lone goal scored for chelsea was also an own goal by Djourou in 30th minute but that own goal was not enough for Chelsea to win the game.
Chelsea were good in the game but they lack one good striker in the form of Didier Drogba. They only have one specialist striker in the form of Nikolas Anelka and he could not put the ball behind the nets. So Arsenal had no probleme in beating the ALL STAR TEAM- Chelsea.
Sunderland 1 - 4 Bolton
The new and redefined Bolton Wanderers continued their great form that they have got this season and now beating Sunderland by four goals to one, will give them a huge amount of confidence and self belief in the squad. Bolton, now, have won four of their last five games, three of which were away from home. Bolton have always ben superb at their home but usually they loose when it comess to away matches, but this time they are having a great run away from the home as well and this is why they are getting better and better.
The game started with a great start for sunderland. They got the early first goals from the legs of Cisse. But after that it was all for Bolton. Bolton outplayed Sunderland after a good start. Bolton kept scoring till the scoreline looked as emphatic as 1-4. Elmander scoring tow goals for Bolton is now in great form and Davies also contributing with one goal. This defeat would make Kaene’s beard more whitish and will again be a big blow for Kaene’s Sunderland.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
It is all set to enjoy the Manchester Derby match this weekend. Everyone has been waiting for the Manchester Derby match and this is the best time to enjoy the match. On one hand Manchester City, who are looking very good with Robinho in their sid
e, but his injury is keeping them worry for some time. He may miss the Derby match so it could be a very big blow to Manchester City. But they are also having a home advantage and with stephen Ireland in superb form scoring a goal in Carling cup recently, it looks that they may well wint the derby match.
If we see the Manchester United on the other hand, It seems that they are also getting better and better after a poor start to the season. They have now entered the top four and would be looking to keep up their winning streak. So they must be looking forward to a great win against Manchester City with Ronaldo is great form.
Scoreline Prediction:
It seems that there will be a great match this week and may well be the draw between the two Manchester Clubs. But this is only a prediction, It may well depend on how these teams play in the match. No doubt this would be a great match and the two clubs are evenly balanced and would put all their efforts to win the match.
For me it seems as a 1 - 1 draw for the derby match with Manchester United scoring the late goal to equalise the game.
EPL Transfer News
Manchester City are also looking forward to take Chelsea’s most reliable defender- John Terry. I can’t see this happening in a million years, but the good old News of the World goes with a rumour that would shake Premier League football to its core if it came off. The newspaper claims that City will launch an audacious £60m bid for Chelsea defender John Terry, making the England skipper the world’s highest paid player on £200,000-a-week. That’s just not going to happen, is it?

Arsenal’s Former captain William Gallas is looking forward to join AC Milan this January Transfer Window. It seems that His agent dont want him to leave Arsenal, but the sun newspaper reported this morning that AC Milan are lining up a £5m bid for him and are hoping to tempt him to the San Siro to get away from the furore surrounding him in North London. This could be a big blow to Arsenal as they are already not going in good form. Gallas was one of the most experienced defenders of Arsenal but now he may well move to AC Milan in the next transfer Window.
